Mrs. Hattie EDGE GLENN, 84 died unexpectedly Monday morning. She was a life long resident of the Freedom Community where she was active in the church and Sunday School of a half century. She was 84. She was united in marriage in 1885, her husband passing away in 1933. Mrs. Glenn was a graduate of the Ladoga Normal School and taught school in Montgomery County for a number of years. There survive two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Hillabold of the Freedom neighborhood and Mrs. Augusta Murphy of Chicago; two sisters, Miss Daisy Edge of Chicago and Mrs. Thomas Kelley of Indianapolis. Funeral services were held at the Freedom Baptist Church 2:00 o'clock Wednesday and burial was in the Freedom Cemetery. - kbz

Waveland, Dec. 1 - Mrs. Hattie Edge Glenn, 84, widow of William Glenn, died unexpectedly Monday morning at her home, north of Waveland. A life-long resident of this community and one of the community's most highly respected women, Mrs. Glenn, who was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church, taught a Sunday School class in the church almost 50 years. She was married near Waveland in 1885. Her husband died in 1933. Mrs. Glenn also was a graduate of the Ladoga Normal School and a former teacher in the Montgomery county schools. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Hillabold, of near Waveland, and Mrs. Augusta Murphy, of Chicago; a granddaughter, Miss Harriet Hillabold, a junior at Purdue University; two sisters, Miss Daisy Edge, of Chicago, and Mrs. Thomas Kelly, of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at the Freedom Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be at the church one hour before services. Friends may call at the Reeves funeral home in New Market until noon Wednesday.
